Education Grant Program
ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2018 NRC EDUCATION GRANT PROGRAM
The National Railroad Construction & Maintenance Association (NRC) is pleased to announce the availability of an education grant for College, University or Technical Schools within the United States. The purpose of this grant is to positively impact the future of the railroad and railroad construction and maintenance industry by supporting an institution’s students, education and research efforts. We are seeking grant applications from programs that provide or are looking to provide students with a foundation that would allow them to work successfully in the rail construction and maintenance contracting industry.
All applications are due by 5PM ET on Friday, May 18, 2018.

The winning applicant will receive a $15,000 grant award. Please note that NRC Education grant funds are intended for targeted student educational and research purposes and are not to be used for administrative, general fund or institution or program overhead costs.
Any College, University or Technical School that has a program supporting the railroad industry, rail engineering education, construction management, or other related programs.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
To apply for the 2018 NRC Education grant all materials listed below must be submitted.
- A completed Application for the 2018 Education Grant Program
- A completed and signed NRC Education Grant Terms and Conditions Form
EVALUATION AND NOTIFICATION
- 15 points – Program Overview & Description
- 15 points – Courses Overview
- 15 points – Students Enrolled, Graduated & Program Growth Trend
- 35 points – Letter Describing How Institution Will Spend Funds and Related Funding Section
- 20 points – Relevance to Rail and Rail Construction/Maintenance Contracting Industry
DEADLINE AND SUBMISSION DETAILS
The 2018 NRC Education Grant Program application deadline is Friday, May 18, 2018. Grant application materials can be emailed to Matt Bell at email@example.com, sent via Dropbox or similar program to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to the NRC (attention Matt Bell) at 410 First Street, SE, 2nd Floor, Washington, D.C. 20003.
The NRC Education Committee will base its evaluation for award on the materials submitted. Any materials submitted past the deadline will not be accepted. Applicants will be informed of application status before the end of May.
