Railroad Day on the Hill

The 2010 Railroad Day on Capitol Hill is being held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 in Washington, DC.

Railroad Day meetings will be taking place all day on the 25th, followed by the Legislative Reception and Dinner that night.

If you just want to participate in the meetings during the day, the event is free but you do still need to register. If you would also like to attend the reception and dinner on February 25th, the cost is $225.

To book a room, call the Grand Hyatt at (202) 582-1234 for reservations. Mention "Railroad Day" or "Group Code Rail" to obtain the group rate of $249, plus 14.5% tax. You can also make your reservations online by going to: www.grandhyattwashington.com and typing the code "g-RAIL" into the Group/Corporate # box in the Find Rooms & Rates section on the front page of the website. The hotel room cut-off date is January 25, 2010, but the rooms will likely sell out prior to that.

NRC members are strongly encouraged to participate. Railroad Day on the Hill is an annual tradition, held in conjunction with the ASLRRA, AAR, REMSA, RSI, and the RTA. The event provides railroaders, railroad contractors, and suppliers an opportunity to tell our story about why railroads and rail infrastructure are important for your Member of Congress to focus on. We will be advocating for railroad tax credits, fighting against harmful industry regulation, pushing for sensible implementation of the rail safety legislation, and discussing many others issues of importance to the industry.

Meetings on the Hill will take place all day February 25, beginning with Registration and Continental Breakfast at 7:00am in the Grand Hyatt and going through 5pm. That part of the event is free and you just need to register so that we know who will be there and we can assign you to meetings with Congressmen and Senators. The reception and dinner go from 6pm to 10pm on the night of February 25 at the Grand Hyatt - the fee for the dinner and reception is $225.
