The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) has named Greg Coleman, field crew superintendent with Omaha Track its Field Employee of the Year. Mr. Coleman will be presented the award at the NRC's annual conference in Marco Island, Florida, on January 8, 2025.

Mr. Coleman – who has worked in the industry for more than 30 years – is admired for consistently going the extra mile in everything he does, whether leading a team or managing a worksite. He is a positive example to other employees, does not take shortcuts, follows all processes, and meticulously shows immense pride andpassion for his work.

The NRC recognized Omaha Track's Greg Coleman with the Field Employee of the Year award at its annual conference in Marco Florida, on January 8, 2025.

In his nomination letter, Omaha Track Field Production Manager Joe Janz said Greg “sets a positive example for younger individuals, showing them the correct path to a successful career in leadership and safety.”

“Greg’s 30+years of experience in this industry speaks volumes about his ability to lead a team and manage a worksite. He carries immense value and always maintains a positive attitude toward his colleagues, the public, and the railroad,” noted Janz. “Greg consistently reaches out to lend a helping hand in the railroad's work with both the public and the company, which is something to truly admire in an industry where we sometimes forget the importance of teamwork.”

Janz added that Greg truly deserves this award. “There is only one Greg Coleman, and we are honored to nominate him and have him employed with us at Omaha Track. He continues to pave the way for future generations. A man who has dedicated 30+years of his life to helping build America and continue the infrastructure of America!”

What our members say…

The NRC scholarship was an important component of my undergraduate studies at St. Ambrose University. It enabled me to take an internship in physical therapy in Costa Rica the summer before my junior year. It was a rewarding experience that solidified my academic direction to become a Physical Therapist. Receiving the scholarship my senior year allowed me to reduce my working hours to focus more time on my academic studies.
