NRC Promotes Barreto to Director of Operations

The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC), a U.S. trade association representing railway contractors and suppliers, announced today the promotion of Marian Barreto to Director of Operations. In her expanded role, Barreto will manage the association’s day-to-day operations and its key events.

Barreto joined the NRC in 2023 to serve as Manager of Programs and Meetings. Over the past two years, she has focused on coordinating NRC programs and events, including the annual conference and the implementation of the association’s new Learning Management System (LMS). She also has been responsible for the membership database and annual renewals, for coordinating association committee work, and producing the membership newsletter.

“Marian has been an invaluable member of our team,” says NRC President Ashley Wieland. “She hit the ground running and has enhanced the quality and value of NRC programs and events for our members. She is a relationship builder – a key value of our association – and has worked tirelessly to foster connections between our members and across our industry.”

Prior to joining the NRC, Barreto served as Chief Operations Officer for MAZ Management, a seven-location, multidisciplinary dental group in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. She has broad experience managing multi-faceted operations and coordinating events with venues, hotels, and restaurants.

About the NRC - The NRC is a U.S. trade association that advances the mutual interests of railway contractors and suppliers who construct, maintain and supply freight railroads and rail-transit and passenger lines.
